Pigtail is a segment of fiber optic cable in a 0.9 mm diameter buffer coating, terminated on one side with an optical connector. Its other end is intended for splicing with the optical fiber of another optical cable. Splicing is performed using fusion splicing or mechanical non-separable connections. The patch cord connector is made of plastic. Connector type is SC. A special latch on the connector body securely fixes it in the receptacle. Connector polishing type is UPC.
