ARMAT AR10N type B series residual current devices are designed for operation in single-phase or three-phase AC electrical networks with a voltage up to 400 V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz. Type B RCDs provide protection against DC, AC, pulsating, and high-frequency components of residual current. High-frequency residual current can occur in equipment with semiconductor converters. RCDs with AC and A tripping characteristics cannot provide comprehensive protection in systems with semiconductor converters; comprehensive protection can only be provided by using type B RCDs. Semiconductor converters are found in medical equipment (various types of CT scanners, X-ray machines, etc.), charging stations, photovoltaic inverters, uninterruptible power supplies, and frequency converters.
