• PURPOSE Circuit breaker is a mechanical switching device capable of making, carrying, and breaking currents under normal circuit conditions, as well as making, carrying for a specified time, and automatically breaking currents under specified abnormal circuit conditions, such as short-circuit currents. • SCOPE OF APPLICATION Used in low-voltage electrical networks for switching and protecting electrical networks and devices for various purposes. • PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION Switching is performed by a lever; wires are connected to screw terminals.
