Anti-resonance reactors are used in low-voltage reactive power compensation cabinets, which are generally connected in series to the capacitor bank. The use of reactors in the design of capacitor units eliminates the following negative effects: - overloading of capacitors due to resonance between the capacitor unit and the inductance of the power transformer and the load; - unintended tripping of protective devices; - overheating of the power transformer and power lines; - voltage waveform distortion as a result of the addition of harmonic components.
