The detector operates as part of a system controlled by a Rubezh control panel that supports communication in the ALS via the R3 protocol. Power to the detector is supplied via a unipolar addressable communication line. There is a "Communication" indicator on the detector housing. The indicator on the detector can be disabled via software. When the indicator is enabled, the detector reflects its status regardless of whether the zone is armed or disarmed. When choosing the installation location for the detector, it should be taken into account that, in addition to reacting to temperature changes occurring in the detection zone, the IR channel may also react to relatively rapid changes in the temperature of the housing. Therefore, for reliable operation and to prevent false alarms, the following requirements must be considered when choosing the installation location: installation of the detector is not allowed above heating appliances or near ventilation openings; for solid structures, installation on a wall or in a corner of the room is preferred; for structures made of lightweight metal constructions, avoid mounting the detector directly to the wall, giving preference to mounting to the load-bearing elements of the structure (columns, trusses, etc.); to avoid frost on the lens and housing in winter, installation of the detector directly above a gate opening is not allowed; there should be no oscillating objects (curtains, houseplants) or incandescent lamps in the detector's operating zone; the presence of obstructing objects (cabinets, shelving, etc.), as well as glazed or mesh partitions, in the detection zone creates "dead zones" behind them, where a person passing through may not be detected; the installation of the detector must exclude direct sunlight exposure. There is an option to test the detector's functionality using the "OT-1" optical tester. In the system, the detector occupies one address.
