Optical fibers are loosely laid in a central optical module. A protective layer of fiberglass rods is spirally wound over the optical module. The free space in the optical module and between the rods is filled with hydrophobic gel. An outer sheath made of a halogen-free, flame-retardant polymer composition with low smoke emission is applied over the armor. Maximum allowable tensile force during installation is 8 kN.
