Designed for diameters up to 6.0 sq mm; it is difficult to strip thicker wire by hand. A screw limiter is located between the cutting blades, which is used to set the conductor diameter. The distance between the grips is chosen to be slightly larger than the diameter of the live conductor. This is done to reduce the risk of damaging the metal. After squeezing the handles, the sheath is removed with a sharp movement along the wire.
