Clamp meter (or Dice Clamp) is an instrument that allows measuring AC current without breaking the circuit being measured. The device obtains measurement results based on the law of electromagnetic induction. If a current flows through a conductor, a magnetic field is created around it, and if this conductor is surrounded by another conductor, an EMF (Electromotive Force) arises in it. The resulting EMF under certain conditions is proportional to the measured current. Thus, by measuring the voltage on this conductor, it becomes possible to determine the magnitude of the measured current. The MS2008B clamp meter is a multifunctional device that can measure many parameters. In addition to the main function of measuring AC current, the MS2008B can measure DC and AC voltage, resistance, signal frequency, capacitor capacitance and even temperature. Additionally, this device has a continuity test function and diode testing. The MS2008B clamp meter features a DATA HOLD function for cases where measurements are taken in hard-to-reach places where it is not always possible to look at the screen.
