KME EKF PROxima contactors consist of a housing, fixed contacts secured within it, and moving contacts secured in the moving part of the magnetic system. The stationary part of the magnetic system is rigidly fixed in the KME housing. A spring prevents the contacts from closing. When voltage is applied to the control coil, a magnetic field arises in the contactor's magnetic system, which, overcoming the spring resistance, closes the magnetic system and closes the contacts. When voltage is removed from the control coil, the spring opens the contacts. Commutation with aluminum and copper wire is possible.
The main purpose of the KME contactor is frequent remote switching of power electric circuits in normal operating mode.
