KT 6000 EKF PROxima contactors consist of a frame with fixed contacts, arc chutes, and the stationary part of the magnetic system; and moving contacts fixed in the moving part of the magnetic system. A spring prevents the contacts from closing. When voltage is applied to the control coil, a magnetic field is generated in the contactor's magnetic system, which, overcoming the spring resistance, closes the magnetic system and the contacts. When voltage is removed from the control coil, the spring opens the contacts. Commutation with aluminum and copper wire is possible.
