To compensate for reactive power under different loads, the controller monitors the active and reactive power components by measuring instantaneous voltage and current values in the electrical network. Based on the obtained data, the phase shift between current and voltage is calculated, and the resulting value is compared with a preset Cos φ value. Depending on the actual power factor deviation, the controller issues a command to control the capacitor bank stages.
