The RBV 404 box is designed for connecting electric heating control cables. The box allows for the connection of 1 or 2 control cables, connection of up to 3 temperature sensors, and output of 1 to 2 temperature sensors. The housing design provides IP66 protection against the ingress of moisture and dust and high corrosion resistance. The cable entries of the box are designed for connecting unarmored cables with a diameter of 7 to 18 mm and armored cables with a diameter of 12 to 20 mm. The applicable terminal sets allow for the connection of multi-strand or single-strand wires with a cross-section of 0.5 to 2.5 sq.mm. Versions of the boxes with screw or spring terminal clamps are available for order, as well as with different types of explosion protection – type "e" (increased safety) and type "ia" (intrinsically safe electrical circuit). Heating cables from the point of exit from the box to the point of entry into the thermal insulation can be additionally protected by a mechanical protection device. The mechanical protection device for the heating cable is available in a version based on PVC-insulated flexible metal conduit (RM) or based on corrugated steel pipe (RP). When equipping the junction box with a mechanical protection device, special cable entries for connection are additionally included in the box assembly. The DR type of the box allows for the installation of a high-temperature sensor with a threaded fitting.
