MASTECH MS8236 multimeter-tracer is a unique device combining the functions of a digital multimeter and a cable tester. When used as a digital multimeter, it is capable of measuring DC and AC voltage up to 600 Volts, DC and AC current up to 10 Amps, resistance up to 20 Megohms, as well as testing diodes and checking circuit continuity. The multi-position rotary switch is used to select measurement units and cable tester functions. Test leads connect to the input terminals located at the bottom of the housing. The cable tester is used to identify and trace wires inside a cable without removing the insulation, as well as to check the functionality of a telephone line. For this purpose, a special cable from the delivery set is connected to the device through a connector located at the end of the device.
