Unshielded patch cords are used to connect network equipment at workstations and in telecommunication cabinets. They support data transfer speeds up to 1000 Mbps depending on the protocols used. The patch cord jacket is made of halogen-free, flame-retardant material. A patch cord is a segment of multi-strand shielded 4-pair cable, crimped on each side with 8P8C (RJ-45) standard connectors with sealed caps to prevent oxidation.
