Shielded patch cords are used to connect network equipment at workstations and in telecommunication cabinets. They support data transfer speeds of 100 or 1000 Mbit/s depending on the protocols used. The patch cord jacket is made of halogen-free, flame-retardant material. A patch cord is a segment of multi-strand shielded 4-pair cable, crimped on each side with 8P8C (RJ-45) standard connectors with sealed caps to prevent oxidation.
