POS-61 solder is intended for soldering and tinning parts of electrical and radio equipment, precision instruments, printed circuit boards, and medical equipment. It is particularly effective when working with components sensitive to overheating.
It is a wire made of an alloy of tin (61%) and lead (39%), wound into a coil. Its structure also contains a special odorless flux — 2.2%, which makes the soldered joint stronger.
How the solder works: heating to a certain temperature (183...190 °C), it melts, wets the metal being soldered, spreads over it, and fills the space between the connected parts.
POS-61 solder has properties such as: corrosion resistance, creation of mechanical strength of the soldered joint, and specific conductivity (for current-carrying elements).
