PML EKF Basic magnetic starters consist of a housing containing fixed contacts and moving contacts, which are secured in the moving part of the magnetic system. The stationary part of the magnetic system is rigidly fixed in the PML housing. A spring prevents the contacts from closing. When voltage is applied to the control coil, a magnetic field is generated in the magnetic system of the starter, which, overcoming the spring resistance, closes the magnetic system and closes the contacts. When voltage is removed from the control coil, the spring opens the contacts. The difference between PML Basic and KME PROxima contactors lies in their different switching endurance. If a contactor is required for harsh operating conditions with frequent switching, KME EKF PROxima should be used. Switching of aluminum and copper wire is possible.
