Large (body) washer DIN 9021 is a flat ring made of metal or plastic, manufactured with increased thickness to enhance strength, and with an extra-large outer diameter that provides a wide smooth bearing surface for distributing the load over a larger area of the mating surface. Large diameter flat washers are manufactured in accordance with the DIN 9021 standard specifications, the equivalents of which are GOST 6958-78 and ISO 7093. The outer diameter of large body washers is three times larger than the inner diameter (for example, M8 has an outer diameter of 24 mm).
