REXANT R6812 cable tracer is designed to check the condition of electrical cables and telephone lines, as well as to detect both working and damaged concealed wiring. The device consists of a receiver and a transmitter. The transmitter is designed to send a signal, and the receiver to pick it up. This is necessary for searching and checking damaged wires, as the receiver can only recognize a signal in the wiring, and if no current is flowing through the damaged cable, the transmitter will generate it artificially. For greater convenience, the receiver is equipped with a speaker that plays the signal resulting from the search for wiring or its defect. The receiver also has a 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones. The user can choose the method of listening to the test signal - via the speaker or headphones. The receiver sensitivity at the transmitter reaches 300 mm (maximum distance from the signal receiver to the searched or tested cable). As the distance from the transmitter increases, the signal power decreases. At 50 meters, the distance to the receiver will not exceed 200 mm. The transmitter is equipped with 2 "crocodile" type clamps for connecting to the wire, as well as a telephone jack for checking the telephone line. If the wire is energized, the transmitter must not be connected to it. A bag is included for convenient transportation and storage of the cable tracer.
