• PURPOSE OSO (single-phase) step-down transformers of the Kostromskoe FGU IK-1 brand are designed to convert an AC voltage of one value 380/220V to a voltage of another value 110; 42; 36; 24; 12V. • APPLICATION AREA Used for powering control circuits of local lighting and signaling in complex schemes to increase the reliability of electrical apparatus operation and ensure safer maintenance of electrical equipment. • PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION A single-phase transformer consists of two windings. When connected to a source, the alternating current creates an alternating magnetic flux which, by closing through the core, penetrates the turns of both the primary and secondary windings of the transformer, inducing EMF in them. When the secondary winding is connected to a load, an alternating current arises in it under the action of the EMF. Thus, electrical energy is transferred from the primary circuit of the transformer to the secondary circuit.
