High voltage indicator UVN-35 KB is designed to check the presence or absence of voltage on overhead power lines and other AC electrical installations with a voltage of 35kV and a frequency of 50 Hz. The UVN-35 KB indicator is classified as a primary electrical protective device. It combines two methods of detecting the presence or absence of voltage—contact and non-contact—allowing for the detection of dangerous voltage from the ground within the overhead line corridor without climbing the tower, as well as performing phase-by-phase voltage determination by touching live parts. The indicator operates without the use of a grounding wire. The operating principle of the contact part is based on converting electrical signals into light and sound signals. The operating principle of the non-contact part is based on inducing a potential difference between two electrodes placed in the electric field. The contact and non-contact parts are built into the working part of the indicator. Bright pulsed indication of the contact and non-contact parts is provided by two differently colored LEDs: simultaneously red and blue for the contact part, and only blue for the non-contact part, accompanied by an intermittent sound signal, which is relatively more frequent and intense during contact operation and less frequent and intense during non-contact operation.
