• PURPOSE Circuit breaker is a mechanical switching device capable of making, carrying, and breaking currents under normal circuit conditions, as well as making, carrying for a specified time, and automatically breaking currents under specified abnormal circuit conditions, such as short-circuit currents. • SCOPE OF APPLICATION Used in low-voltage electrical networks for switching and protecting electrical networks and devices for various purposes. • PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION Switching is performed by a lever; wires are connected to screw terminals. The latch fixes the circuit breaker body on the DIN rail and allows it to be easily removed if necessary (to do this, pull the latch by inserting a screwdriver into the latch loop). The circuit is switched by the moving and stationary contacts. The moving contact is spring-loaded; the spring provides the force for rapid contact separation.
