ZOI clamps are designed for connecting and tapping phase and neutral self-supporting insulated wires with a voltage of up to 1 kV, as well as for tapping subscriber conductors (lighting wires). When tightening the bolts, the contact plate blades form a reliable electrical contact by piercing the insulation of the main conductor and the branch conductor. Upon reaching a certain torque sufficient to create a reliable electrical contact, the head of the tightening bolt shears off. For ease of installation and transport, each bolt is crimped to prevent possible separation of the components. The clamp design ensures a watertight connection and reliable electrical contact, which is confirmed by tests during which the clamp was immersed at a depth of 1 meter for 1 minute under an AC voltage of 6 kV at a frequency of 50 Hz. The clamp housing is made of mechanically strong glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic.
