Eurolan symmetrical twisted pair cables are designed for signal transmission with frequencies up to 500 MHz. They are used in structured cabling systems (local area networks) and broadband access (BBA) systems. The cables are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 11801 Edition 2.0, and standards IEC 61156-5, EN 50173-1, and TIA 568C.2. They are intended for single and/or group stationary installation indoors and/or outdoors, depending on the outer sheath type. Eurolan cables are laid in specially organized cable routes, on cable trays, cable racks, cable trestles, and in cable conduits. During the installation and operation of Eurolan twisted pair cables, constant contact with water is not permitted. Eurolan symmetrical twisted pair cables are produced in two versions: unshielded and shielded twisted pair. Unshielded twisted pair is characterized by the absence of grounding requirements, flexibility, smaller diameter, and consequently, ease of installation. It is used in most modern applications for voice, data, or video transmission. Shielded twisted pair is characterized by increased protection against external electromagnetic interference and reduces mutual interference between cables when laid in a bundle. Shielded twisted pair requires mandatory grounding.
