Self-tapping screws for metal are metal rods with fine threads and a head in the form of a countersunk or flat washer. The thread, extending to the head of the fastener, ensures a tight connection of identical and different types of materials. Pointed fasteners are used to attach thin metal sheets to metal, plastic, and wood bases, as well as in the assembly of wooden products, for example, for attaching drywall. Self-drilling screws are used when working with aluminum, steel, and iron parts with a thickness from 0.9 mm. Self-tapping screws for metal are made of carbon steel. The surface of the products is additionally coated with zinc or phosphate coating, which protects the fasteners from corrosion.
